The British Council, in partnership with the London Book Fair, the Estonian Literature Centre, Writers’ and Translators’ House, Latvia and the Lithuanian Culture Institute, announced the authors representing the three Baltic Countries for the Market Focus Cultural Programme at The London Book Fair 2018, taking place 10–12 April.

There is great news for translators into Norwegian. The Traducta programme of the Estonian Cultural Endowment has received a generous bestowal of 150 000 Euros to support translations of Estonian literature into Norwegian, Icelandic and Danish languages.

Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania will be the market focus countries at the London Book Fair in 2018. ELIC, together with the Estonian Publishers’ Association will be responsible for the market focus cultural programme in London. Preparations and negotiations are in full progress.

Mihkel Mutt will be on stage twice during the upcoming London Book Fair, on April 13 and 14.
On the occasion of the LBF the Estonian Embassy is welcoming international publishers and other guests at the Hospital Club Oak Room in London on Monday, 13 April at 6pm.
British journalist Edward Lucas and Estonian writer Mihkel Mutt will be discussing literature, language and history in a discussion moderated by Rosie Goldsmith.

ELIC has completed a huge international project arranged in co-operation with the Estonian Association of Designer Bookbinders: a volume of 8 young Estonian poets in 8 languages has been artistically bound by 115 artists from 19 countries. All these pieces of art are on display at the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design until May 10, 2015.
